"NOTE A SUD“ CULTURAL ASSOCIATION

Note a Sud” Cultural Association is a non-profit organization that aims to spread musical culture in general, proposing initiatives aimed at developing musical knowledge among citizens. He mainly works in the organization and realization of concert events in the territory of the province of Foggia, with particular attention to the sound experiments of contemporary music and to the tradition of the wind orchestra of the Puglia region. This cultural association, in recent years, has therefore organized a contemporary music festival called "White Noise", which now in its third edition, under the artistic direction of the members of the "Furano saxophone quartet", aims to: offer the opportunity for emerging composers (from the Foggia area and beyond) to play their own music; to offer young musicians the opportunity to perform a particular type of repertoire that unusually finds a lot of space in the concert seasons; expand the instrumental repertoire; carry out cultural exchanges with musicians and composers from foreign countries; develop lectures on sound experimentation as a means to reflect on our contemporaneity. It has also promoted the spread of a wind orchestra formation called "Foggia Wind Orchestra", which, also supported by the municipal administration of the city of Foggia, in its territory deals with promulgating a repertoire that can create a combination of the musical tradition of the Apulian band - focused on symphonic marches and transcriptions of the opera - and the most recent repertoire of original music for symphonic band developed mainly by composers from the United States and Northern Europe.

Contemporary music festival "Rumore Bianco"

"Rumore bianco"  is an initiative aimed at spreading contemporary music as a vehicle of expression and communication in the city of Foggia. This festival offers events in which contemporary music will be the protagonist. This initiative tends to develop new languages, in particular the musical one, which becomes the heritage of the area. This is implemented with the enhancement of both local composers and performers, who are given freedom of expression with the commission of new compositions, and with the participation of exponents already established in the world of contemporary music, thus giving the local musicians the opportunity to confront with national and international realities, favoring the exchange of ideas, which are fundamental for the conception and development of new languages. Fundamental is the dialogue within the territory between the musicians (composers and performers) who through the comparison have the opportunity to develop new works that reflect the expressive needs, using new instrumental and compositional techniques. An integral part of this dialogue is the meeting with the public which becomes an active part of this production, through concerts and debates that develop interest in this musical genre. Another important objective is the enhancement of the cultural heritage of the province of Foggia, with concerts held in locations of artistic and cultural interest (churches, auditoriums, etc.).
